Thanksgiving 2013

I hope everyone is having a happy Thanksgiving break .

OUR THANKSGIVING TREE

 

OUR THANKFUL TREE - DALLAS PAINTED THIS TREE ON THE WALL IN OUR SCHOOL ROOM AFTER WE MOVED IN SO WE TOOK FELT LEAVES FROM THE DOLLAR TREE AND WROTE SOME THINGS ON THEM WE ARE THANKFUL FOR .

before our school break we learned the meaning of Thanksgiving , to give thanks to God , we read George Washington's Thanksgiving proclamation .

Owl Prowl

I am late posting this but weekend before last we went on an owl prowl at Steele creek park , we had so much fun , Riley loves the outdoors and nature as much as I do , we love to study animals so we were really excited about this class , we learned a lot . Their favorite part was dissecting owl pellets , will definitely order some of these for the kids to do at home , since Riley talked about this for a week afterwards . The night we did this the temp. was in the twenties , we did not go prepared , I really can't say why we went unprepared , I should know how to dress for night walks in freezing weather since I used to coon hunt with my aunt , uncle and papaw but I just was not thinking , next time we are wearing layers of clothing and getting hand and feet warmers , even though we did not get to see an owl we heard a few and that was exciting and I am sure this will be a great memory for them .

Ooooh Boy !

 So whats it like to have a boy around the house ? Well let me start off by saying I am very thankful that God blessed me with my little man Job , I prayed for many years that he would someday give me a little boy . With that said when Job was 3 months old people would ask me if I could tell the difference between boys and girls yet , I would say no , and then Job started to crawl and at 9 months he started walking , he has never slowed down since , instead of calling him my little man I think I should call him my wild man because he is the wildest child I have ever had :) This boy keeps me on my toes all day long , he climbs on everything , the other day I ask him to give mama a kiss and he pulled my glasses off and hit me with them  but some days he is very sweet and he is a mama's boy and I love my boy , I just can't turn my back on this boy for a minute, yes there is a difference between boys and girls , and if you have been blessed with both then you are very blessed indeed . Our days are full of excitement since Job came into our lives , Here are some of my favorite pictures of my little (wild) man  -

Meet Rosemary

Rosemary is Riley's bunny she got for her birthday , she is a Holland Lop , she is such a sweet bunny , she will just sit and let the kids brush her fur , she lets them carry her around everywhere .

 

Our First 2 Weeks Of School

We just finished up our second week of school , I guess its true that each year gets easier , we are so glad to be back on our school schedule , not that I have ever been able to keep a schedule yet but I never stop trying , I think this year will be easier than last because we both know what is expected of us.
So far we are enjoying Galloping the Globe , we have spent the first 2 weeks just studying the world , we read how to make an apple pie and see the world , did apple art and made an apple pie .

Year Round Tree

I got this idea from a fellow blogger and I love it , we are going to decorate it for birthdays , holidays , this month we made it Riley's birthday tree .

Today was Riley's birthday , we usually have her party at home or a park but this year she wanted a party at Leaping Lizards , a play place with inflatable slides . She had a lot of fun ...
