Another Update !!!

Well I finally went to my new Dr. and she is so nice , I really like her . I told her the test that I didn't want to have done and she really listened to me , she did not make a big deal out of it like the last Dr. I had . I decided to have an ultrasound to find out if I was having a boy/girl , and I am having a girl , I am so excited , I already had a boy and girl name picked out , I am going to name her Leah . During my ultrasound the lady asked me if I had been to the high risk Dr. , I knew something was wrong and wondered why she ask me that , but I know they are not supposed to say very much , I got a call from my Dr. the next day saying that they were going to send me for a special ultrasound because they seen abnormalities on Leah's face , my apt. is Nov. 1 . They also need better pictures of her spine , they said she is so active she won't be still . I know it is a sin to worry and I try not to , even though in some situations it is hard but I keep trying to keep this verse in mind which is also one of my favorites - Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love GOD , to them who are the called according to his purpose . I know that whatever happens it is for my good according to his purpose . I do hope that my little Leah will be OK . I came home and enlarged Leah's ultrasound picture , my favorite one of her trying to suck her thumb , I am going to put it in a frame and hang it above her little chest of drawers . Last night I got to see Dallas perform in one of her band competitions for the first time , I was so proud of her she did so good , I only stayed long enough to watch her because it is getting so cold here at night , we had to wear coats and gloves and I still got cold , I don't like cold weather a lot anymore , and we don't have much time left before our pretty weather will be gone .I finally got finished with my fall cleaning , maybe I can catch up on other things now . Obama is at it again !

Here Lately !

Well I'll try to catch up on everything since my last post , to start there was a shooting at my daughters high school , nobody was hurt except for the gunman , he was shot and killed by a police officer . Another reason to consider homeschooling . Dallas helped me out so much before school started back , one evening she cooked dinner by herself , but now that she is back to school I don't ask her to do more than a few chores , she is in band and that is hard work and long hours so she really does not have much time for anything . I have really felt bad today , my house is in a mess , but the mess will be waiting for me when I start feeling better :) . I am still trying to study for my GED , I am wishing now that I would have finished school , I have to get my GED so I can home school Riley , I have always been bad at math , it doesn't come easy for me , in fact it gives me a headache sometimes . Maybe after I get my GED I can have more time for my hobbies once again. Well I'm glad to hear that everybody I've been praying for is doing OK . I finally found a doctor , I have not met her yet but have an apt. I don't believe in male gynecologist , and we are losing a lot of our women doctor's around here , so I hope this one is nice . Christians should not celebrate Halloween !

Well it will be here soon , that wicked day that I hate Halloween . They have already started displaying all that junk , I have to keep explaining to Riley why this holiday is bad and why we don't celebrate it . Then there are the family members that I have to contend with , sometimes I think grown ups like Halloween more than the children , it even makes some of them mad because you don't let your kids celebrate Halloween . Most people say they don't see anything wrong with letting your kids dress up and get candy , I don't see anything wrong with kids playing dress up or eating a little candy only not on the day of Halloween , I take my kids to a fall festival sometimes , which usually takes place way before Halloween , and has nothing to do with this holiday and it makes the kids feel like they are not missing out on anything by not celebrating Halloween . Halloween is a pagan holiday , there is so much info on this on websites but I will post some in case you don't want to look it up .


Halloween Origins: What is Samhain?
These Halloween origins are a time in which Druidism and Celtic Reconstructionists celebrate Samhain as a feast for the dead. Divination and fortune telling is believed to have better communication with the spirit world because the fall season holds the thinnest partition between the two worlds of the living and the dead. The Druids built huge sacred bonfires to offer sacrifices to the many Celtic deities that number over five hundred named gods. Before each yearly sacred bonfire, the Celts would extinguish their hearth fires and relight them with embers from the bonfire.



Bobbing for apples ?

When the Celts were absorbed by the roman empire , many rituals of roman origin began , among them was the worship of Pomona , goddess of the harvest , apples were the sacred fruit of the goddess .



Jack o lanterns ?

Irish children used to carve potatoes or turnips and light them for Halloween , for some Irish villain a wicked man named Jack , when they moved to the Americas , they brought their traditions with them but turnips were not readily available so they carved pumpkins .



As if this is not enough I can still see whats wrong with this holiday , when you see skeletons hanging from trees and tombstones in peoples yards and not to mention the costumes , you should be able to see what Halloween is all about .

FEELING BETTER !!!

Well this an update to my last post , which I didn't have time to go into great detail . I am in my 11Th week of my pregnancy now , we only have one midwife in our area , which doesn't surprise me and she does not take my insurance . My insurance only lets me choose from a list of doctors , so I chose one and my first visit was exciting because I got to hear the baby's heartbeat but my doctor and I do not get along and as of today I have not been back . I have been searching for another doctor which I don't think I am going to find , because everyone I call is not excepting new ob patients , and I have learned that 98% of our ob doctors are male , so I may be stuck with this doctor , she is just so bossy and does not care how her patients feel about anything , with her your opinion doesn't count . Does anybody out there know what happens if you opt out of test that you don't want to have done ?

I took the kids with me for my first visit , even though this doctor talked down to me and was very rude , I'm still glad I took them with me so they could hear the baby's heartbeat to . I have been feeling better lately , I have been getting breaks in between my morning sickness , I'm still very tired at times . I have been shopping for maternity clothes , I went to the thrift stores but our thrift stores never have much and when they do they are over priced , so I went to yard sales and I did pretty good , I found maternity shirts with the tags still on them for 50 cents , one of them was a nursing top and I got a couple of dresses for 1.00 each . I didn't find any skirts which I need , it is getting hard to find long maternity skirts . If I don't find some soon I'll have to try eBay or motherhood , which I think is our only maternity store around here .

Also at the yard sales I found a stack of abeka kindergarten books that I got for only 7.00 , I was happy about that . I also tried one of those golden Oreo blizzards from DQ , like I needed one , I don't know why that I crave things that are not healthy , because normally I try to eat healthy , but when I'm pregnant I want junk food . I hope everybody else is doing great , will post more later on .....God Bless !!!!! Forgot to mention that my baby is due on my birthday which is Feb. 28TH , not going to get over excited because both my girls were born 7 days past there due date but it would be nice if he/she would come on that day .

MY FIRST CHECK UP !

I went for my first appt. today , everything is good . I found out that I'm not as far along as I thought , you can't tell by looking at my stomach , I don't ever remember showing this early . The funny thing is that the baby is due on my birthday :) . I've not been online for a while , I'm still going through morning sickness , and I am so tired , no matter how much sleep I get Its never enough . I got to hear the baby's heartbeat to , hope everybody else is doing good .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RILEY !

Riley , it's your 4Th birthday. You are growing up way to fast , I love your curly , fuzzy hair that you never want me to fix . You always want to brush it yourself . I love how you still cling to me , your always holding on to my skirt . I love how you shower me with hugs and kisses all the time . You are so cute , your always telling me about how God is heaven and all the saved people are there with him and how it never gets dark there . Sometimes I am surprised at how well behaved you can be , but when it comes to your older sister you can be very bossy and pushy sometimes . I love how you always say or do something everyday to make me smile or laugh , sometimes before you do something and your not sure whether it's OK , you will ask and say will that be fine ? I love you my little Riley and I hope you have a great birthday ....
